About EMMA
EMMA can be used to control loads ranging in size from 1 kW to 300 kW, on single phase and three phase connections. EMMA suits all new and existing grid-connected generators, from domestic to large-scale solar PV, wind turbines and water turbines (hydro).
Which EMMA should I buy?
- EMMA for Home
For most domestic users, the smallest EMMA, the SP15 ('EMMA for Home'), is perfect. This suits generators with a maximum output of up to 5kW. The next size up, the SP15/30 suits generators with a maximum output of 6-10kW. - EMMA for Farm and Business
For larger generators, ask your installer to recommend a larger EMMA.
- EMMA for avoiding Network Upgrade Costs
Get your EMMA with the Export Limitation add-on ('EMMA with EL') to limits electricity exports to what your local DNO permits. EMMA with EL makes it possible to grid-connect generators where otherwise it would not be possible.
